Experiencing a one day yoga retreat is a wonderful alternative to a full weekend retreat. Taking a day out of your normal routine, away from all your responsibilities, can be so nourishing. Sometimes a day is all we need to reconnect and replenish ourselves.
Kalindi Yoga is holding a day retreat this November at Laurel Farm in Carlingcott. As we move through Autumn, November is the perfect month to take some time for yourself before December is upon you and the chaos begins…
Autumn is the season for introspection. As the days grow shorter, we spend more time indoors, resting and recuperating. We follow our natural biological rhythm to hibernate and stay warm. Kalindi Yoga is offering this retreat as a way for you to unwind, find stillness and listen to that voice deep within. Our mind chatter covers up our inherent ability to be still but it is among the stillness within where we find our inspiration and understanding. Our aim is to provide a space for you to seek clarity of mind, connect deeply with your soul and to listen to what you truly need as we approach another year.
Our venue is in Carlingcott, a small village outside of Bath and situated in the quiet Cam Valley, surrounded by characterful and charming architecture and showcasing some outstanding countryside views. It’s a peaceful and quaint village perfect for hosting a day retreat accompanied only by the sounds of nature.
The yoga classes will be held in the Temple at the farm. The Temple provides a calm space for reflection; it is flooded with natural light and the sounds of nature. The Temple sits amongst the farm’s beautiful seven acre small holding and is part of the Laurel Farm Steiner inspired kindergarten.

Please leave extra time when trying to find Laurel Farm, the country lanes are small and twisty. If you drive into Carlingcott from the road New Buildings, you’ll see Laurel Farm on your right (next to Laurel Barn), continue down the road and take the next right until you see another sign for the farm on your right. You will be driving down Firgrove Lane. Drive past Laurel Barn, do not drive up their driveway! If you are driving in the other way, off Peasedown St John’s main street turn onto Keel’s Hill which then turns into Firgrove Lane. You will see the Laurel Farm sign straight ahead of you as you arrive.
The address of the venue is: 17 Carlingcott Peasedown St John, Carlingcott, Bath BA2 8AN.
Please note - there is car parking in Laurel Farm for 12 cars. Please car share if possible if you are coming with a friend.
Kat will be your teacher and host for the day. Kat teaches from the heart. She sees yoga as fundamental to her life; it is her passion and this shines through in her teaching. Her focus within each class is on using breath awareness and alignment to ensure safe practice. She incorporates ROM (range of movement) exercises into her classes to help her students gain mobility, not just flexibility, and encourages intuitive movement. She believes real yoga is about listening to your own body - not forcing yourself to achieve a ‘shape’ your body is not yet ready for.
Alignment cues are offered to help you drop into the postures and the sensations you may feel but the cues given are not necessarily traditional cues. Expect her to challenge your understanding of your body. Expect her to break postures down into the minutiae. Kat will always ensure you are safe but she doesn’t expect you to follow blindly. Yoga is your journey. You must feel, you must connect to your own body to get the benefits this beautiful practice can bring. Kat tries to bring an authentic yet modern approach to her classes. Expect Sanskrit mantras, modern yoga warm ups and strengthening exercises and traditional yoga postures. You will leave her class feeling calm, accomplished and stretched out.
